Stop for a second

“Most people are on the world, not in it – having no conscious sympathy or relationship to anything about them – undiffused, separate, and rigidly alone like marbles of polished stone, touching but separate” John Muir

One of my favorite quotes by John Muir. It was true when it was written and even more so now.
Take a minute to immerse yourself into the natural world. Notice the hairs on a flower, the whiskers on a bird. Don’t ignore the beauty of bugs you generally squash. Take it all in, give yourself back, and feel the feelings of our ancestors. The amazement, the awe, the oneness of what it means to be part of nature, to depend on it, and to love it. Be a child, learning names, learning colors, noticing the misplaced feather. Want to feel it, want to taste it, just live.
Stop for a second and remember.
